Colour-mixing tricks for little artists
Three primary paints, one afternoon, and a rainbow of shades kids can make themselves.
Give a child six colours and they will use six colours. Give them three and they will invent a dozen.
Start with the primaries
Red, yellow and blue, plus white to lighten. Everything else is a discovery waiting to happen.
Mix on a plate, not in the pot
A paper plate is the cheapest palette there is, and it keeps the pots clean for the next session.
